My journey with Physics

From the very first
Mathematics achievements...
My journey toward Physics actually... began with Math. In middle school, Math was my first testing ground where I joined school selected teams and took part in city and provincial competitions. I also earned several important awards, including the Young Mathematicians Talent Search (MYTS) 2018–2019 and the American Mathematics Competitions AMC 8 and AMC 10 in 2019.

to engage with Physics.
However, the pressure and competition gradually made the initial excitement fade, and I turned to Physics, a field that felt familiar because of my family’s background, yet still challenging and full of new opportunities.
I quickly achieved my first results in Physics. The Third Prize in the City Excellent Student Competition and the Consolation Prize at the Provincial level felt like confirmation that I was on the right path.

Asian Physics Olympiad 2024
APhO 2024 was my first time stepping onto the international stage of physics with excitement and pride. However, after two days of exams, I started to feel a sense of disappointment. Understanding the problems was not difficult, but expressing my ideas in English under time pressure held me back from performing fully. I ended up with a Bronze Medal. For many people, that would be something to be proud of, but for me, it felt incomplete. That setback became the motivation for me to reconsider how I studied, practiced, and prepared mentally for a major competition.

Asian Physics Olympiad 2025
One year later, when I returned to APhO 2025, everything had changed. I practiced problems in English, trained my presentation logic, and learned how to stay calm when the pressure increased. In the exam room, the questions that once intimidated me now felt familiar. As a result, I earned a Gold Medal with the highest score on the Vietnamese team. It was not because I suddenly became better, but because I fixed what once caused me to fail. That was the moment I felt I had truly grown.

International Physics Olympiad 2025
At IPhO 2025, I carried with me all the lessons from my two APhO seasons. The experimental exam went even more smoothly than my practice sessions. I made measurements confidently, processed data with ease, and no longer let pressure take over. When the results were announced, I was the only Vietnamese contestant to win a Gold Medal and also earned the second-highest experimental score in the world. That moment was not a “peak,” but a confirmation that early failures do not define the journey. What matters is how I get back up and move forward.

These are the moments I can never forget.

Moments of Honor
Second-Class Labor Medal
& Speaking at the Presidential Palace
Being awarded the Second-Class Labor Medal after achieving high results in international competitions was a moment of deep pride for me. As a national honor given for outstanding contributions, the medal marked a milestone I will always remember. Standing as a representative and speaking at the Presidential Palace made the experience both humbling and unforgettable.

I was so honored to speak at the Presidential Palace.

Speaking with the
Prime Minister
of Vietnam
Speaking in front of the Prime Minister about my international Olympiad achievements was a moment of deep pride and emotion. Beyond sharing gratitude, it was an opportunity of me to encourage other students to stay curious, believe in their potential and see knowledge as a path to both personal growth and positive impact on society.

Provincial Recognition & Vallet Scholarship
Being honored by Nghệ An Province for my achievements at the International and Asian Physics Olympiads was a deeply meaningful experience. The recognition, together with the Vallet Scholarship, marked an important moment of encouragement, reflecting both academic effort and the support of my home community.

Featured on Interviews

Being featured in a VOV report and interview after winning the Gold Medal at IPhO 2025 was a special moment. Sharing my journey through the Voice of Vietnam allowed me to connect with students passionate about science, encouraging them to stay curious, persistent, and confident in their own paths. Speaking on a national platform felt both surreal and deeply affirming, turning a personal achievement into a moment of shared pride.
I was also featured in several other interviews, including a televised segment with Nghe An Provincial Television. Sharing my journey and experiences through the media allowed those moments of learning and competition to reach a wider audience, turning personal milestones into stories that could inspire and connect with others.
